  • Ongoing research takes place with regards to orchids. Amazingly these plant species are also being used as healing herbs while their scents, ranging between savory, sweet, pungent and spicy, are very important to the perfume industry. Vanilla is a favorite flavor that is commonly found in America. In the past Aztecs would mix some these flavors with chocolate and drank it for strength

  • This amazing flower is also the second largest family of plants that are grown today. Another interesting thing to note is that the Vanilla orchids produce a wonderful spice that is also regarded as the most expensive spice second to saffron. This may be the case as the production process proves to be very labor intensive.

  • According to resources, it has been recorded that one particular orchid specie has lived until it was a 100 years old
